Welcome friends! Holy cow, I can't believe I have my own blog and website! First and foremost, thank you so much for taking the time to read my first ever blog! I'm still new at this, so bare with me while i figure this whole thing out!

A year ago, I knew of resin, but I never actually worked with it.  I actually started off as a woodworker.  When I bought my house in 2014 I realized very quickly how crazy expensive it was to buy American made wood furniture.  So I asked my dad if he would drive 1,200 miles to help me build furniture.  After making my dining room table for a fraction of what Restoration Hardware was selling it for, I was hooked! I was introduced to resin about a year ago, and I incorporated it into some of my woodworking/home decor pieces.  Then it happened, I saw my first resin ocean pour on Instagram and it was like the heavens parted and angels started singing in the background.  I knew I wanted to learn how to do that!

I reached out to an artist on Instagram and asked if she would help me make a piece for an anniversary gift.  She was more than willing to help and I couldn't be more grateful for her! Because let me tell you, my first 10 or so pieces looked like a drunken barn animal made them!  After many pictures and frustrating emails (on my end) back and forth, I finally got cells!  And as soon as I did, I knew that this was an art form I wanted to master.

Now by no means am I saying that i'm a master, I still learn something new almost every pour I do.  And trust me, there have been PLENTY of projects that were thrown in the trash! But I feel like I am finally starting to find my confidence in this crazy resin world.

If you feel like this is something you want to learn, I encourage you to just take the leap and try it! You won't be an expert at first, and just like anything in life, you have to work at it. But give it time, and reach out to the Artist that inspire you.  Ask questions, and remember its totally OK to ask for help.  We have ALL been there.  Keep in mind, not everyone will be willing to share their secrets though.  This is the only source of income for some people especially if it is something truly unique.  If you want to know what I use, just check out the materials tab and there's a link to all of my necessities.  Once you have everything you need, take a deep breath, let your creativity take over, and just enjoy the process!
